~ Samridhi Prakash
I haven’t felt their smiles
For months now,
Screens separating our love
Unifying our loss,
Tracing their laugh lines across glass
My tears moistening the fingers
Which hold in their memory tunnels
My family’s mirage.
Their eyes harbour life
A breathing, living haven through uproaring nights,
This year has made me crave
Their annoying grace, their perfect ways,
Silently their support urges me to brave on,
Lightless mornings and windless nights
Seems heavy without their hands in mine.
Hold on, they tell me
Brighter mornings await your arrival.
Smile on, they tell me
We are waiting for you to come along.
