The Journey of a Free School
Trace the journey of our free school which began from teaching few kids in a public park to becoming a registered NGO and much more!
2016
Beginning of a Free School
In 2016, the idea of a free school was envisioned and promptly brought into effect by a teenager yearning for a change. Mr Raghav Sharma began teaching a few underprivileged kids in a public park, creating a system similar to a free school. The vision was to provide free education for all underprivileged children.
2017
Launching Project Aashray
Soon, it was realised that along with quality education, kids are in dire need of nutritious food. In consonance with this realization, Project Aashray was launched which focused on serving food to the students of free school. Moreover, we began carrying out food distribution drives in various parts of Delhi. Within 2 years of its existence, we served around 1000 meals to the needy.

Launching Project Clothes Bring Smile
Adding another new dimension to our existing mission, we launched Project Clothes Bring Smile. As the name suggests, its objective is to provide the underprivileged section of our society with access to decent clothing. Our free school not only teaches and feeds but also ensures that kids have comfortable clothing.
2019
Free school turns into a Registered NGO
Our NGO hit a major milestone and got registered under Indian Trust Act 1882. The same year, we distributed 10,000 meals under project Aashray. We also added another project titled Udaan to spread awareness regarding menstruation. A sanitary napkin distribution drive was conducted in Delhi distributing over 1000 napkins.

2020
Education for all, Online!
The COVID-19 pandemic restrictions limited our capacity to conduct classes in the Janakpuri public park. To make sure that nothing stands in our way of providing free education, SKCF launched Project Sarwa Shiksha Abhiyaan to impart education in virtual mode. We also sponsored smartphones and data packages for students. SKCF also launched its website along with the introduction of different domains.
2021
Going beyond a Free School
SKCF received 12A and 80G certifications in the year 2021. We served over 40,000 food packets under Project Aashray and distributed over 3500 clothes under Project Clothes Bring Smile. We also launched Project Serving Stray Animals under which we have catered to more than 500 animals till now.

From an NGO in Delhi to a dream school
The most recent and biggest milestone in our journey has been shifting from public park to a rented accommodation which will now act as our new centre! Our classes will no more be held under open sky. The kids of our free school now have a roof over their head while studying. We no more have to worry about extreme weather conditions!
