A day we all know, when and why celebrated,
Passed out of school? Treating 14th November as your casual day?
Try recalling it, all your past years’ memories will gather up in your brain.
Remember receiving free chocolates from school?
Screaming those otherwise restricted songs on top of our voices,
Remember discussing how your Math teacher danced to the song “Bum bum bole?”
The one and the only day when our class marked full attendance.
Children’s Day is one of the most important celebrations for the SK Children foundation. It is a day, we get to celebrate the presence and the attachment of our students with the organisation. If it was not for these children, there would be no SKCF family, no tiresome and wholesome days.
This Children’s day, we plan to go back to our initial days and embrace how far our family and our students have grown together.
In 2016, Raghav Sharma sir, founded this organisation when he came across a group of children asking him to buy them ice-creams. In return, he asked them to recite mere alphabets. He was shaken to see them just gazing at his face, not able to utter a word. At that point, he realised the issues existing in society and had an urge to become a changemaker. From then onwards, he began teaching students on a personal level and then gradually founded the SK Children foundation, a family of more than 2000 students all over India as well as in other nations. An NGO working 365 days a year to provide quality education to students, to make our future generations have a better livelihood, to make the future change-makers and policymakers, to free them from all stereotypes and most importantly, to make them vocal, to build strong personalities so that they can speak for themselves and stand up for what is right. We still have a long way to go, however, here are some of our achievements:
- One of our bright students, Kaveri, who had always been very curious, hard working and sincere since the beginning, set a landmark by scoring 90.2% in her 10th SSC examination. She received an award from her school -New English School Chandkhed, Pune.

RAGHAV SHARMA SIR (FOUNDER)
There is no denial of the fact that a teacher’s job is to add value to their student’s life. However, it is you who light up our world.
We learn as we teach.
Happy Children’s day!
PRERNA JAIN MA’AM (HEAD)
Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. Only through right education can a better order of society be built up.” This was said by our first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and I believe the very same. The mission of SKCF to educate every child, especially the underprivileged ones, aligns with my beliefs and has given us a great platform to help and support this vision.
My message to children would be to cherish their childhood, live their lives happily and study hard to achieve their dreams and goals and make everyone proud.

Children’s day is primarily celebrated to spread awareness on child rights and child protection rights. To know more about these rights click here. The reason why it is celebrated on Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday is due to his fondness for children, just like our SKCF team is fond of our students. They are not just our students, but our own younger siblings, our family. We thank all our students for always sticking with us and helping us achieve our goal of a better future for the next generation.
