Since its inception in 2016, SK Children Foundation has delivered quality education to underprivileged children. In its 5+ years of service to society, it has provided education to more than 1000 children aged 6-14 years. The classes were held at the Janakpuri center of the foundation, seven days of the week. Different subjects were taught to the children by our dedicated team of volunteers. Students were given quality exposure and focus was laid on their overall development.
But things took a turn when the COVID-19 pandemic took its roots in and around the world. To ensure the safety of the children, on-ground classes were suspended. It took some time for all of us to devise ways to continue teaching the children. But soon our team decided to conduct online classes using different platforms. The teacher’s domain ensured that they make the best use of the available time and resources. The NGO even provided the children with smartphones to ensure that they have access to online education.
RESUMPTION OF OFFLINE CLASSES
It was after two years that the offline classes were resumed at the Janakpuri center. The on-ground classes began in full swing. The happiness was unparalleled at enthusiasm at its peak! More than 150+ students are attending the classes at Janakpuri and the classes are conducted on all seven days of the week. The volunteers teach the children and put in their best efforts. Subjects like Social Science, Mathematics, and English are covered during the classes. Regular classes and tests are conducted to check the progress of the students. The children are provided with nutritious food, fruits, and refreshing drinks during the classes. On the weekend, activities such as board games and sports are conducted for the entertainment of the children and to ensure that learning is a fun process for them.
