Women’s Day is celebrated on the 8th of March every year. This day vitalises women’s significance in economic, political, and sociological spheres where they have been neglected since times immemorial. While inclusivity in the current scenario might be improving in the sense that women are being recognised and appreciated for their individuality and aren’t seen as the other anymore whose basic tenets of life were streamlined by men, the task is by no means completed. The institution of society and mentality is riddled with inequalities as highlighted by the need to reinforce the importance of this day and hence we must continue to work towards a fairer and more just system.
On this Women’s day, SKCF brings you a poem written by one of our volunteers, Ayush Patel, who has been working in the Web Domain of our NGO.
के तू रुकती नहीं
के तू झुकती नहीं,
के तू रुकती नहीं,
आंखों में अरमान बड़े, हक के लिए लड़ती है।
भीड़ में पहचान ढूँढती,
अंधेरो में रहती हैं।
चमकिली चीजों पे मरती नहीं।
सितारों से ज़्यादा दमकती है।
के तू झुकती नहीं।
के तू रुकती नहीं।
हंस के सबसे मिलती,
अकेले में घुटती है।
जीने का हक़ है उसे
पर दुनिया जीने नहीं देती है।
पर तू झुकती नहीं।
पर तू रुकती नहीं।
पैरों में झांजर नहीं है बेड़ियां।
तेरी नहीं, दुनिया की ग़लती है।
कामयाबी से जलते है, वहीं बातें बनाते।
पर यह बाते तुझे अब कहा चुभती है ।
के तू झुकती नहीं।
के तू रुकती नहीं।
और कहना है।
के तू डरती नहीं।
के तू थकती नहीं।
या शायद थक जाती है कभी
शायद डर जाती है कभी
पर इतिहास गवाह है
डर के रुकना तूने सीखा नही
थक के रुकना तूने सीखा नही
इसलिए आज भी, है यह सच
के तू झुकती नहीं है,
के तू रुकतीं नहीं है,
आंखों में अरमान लिए
हक के लिए लड़ती है।
